I made this 4-poster pet (or doll) bed.  

Here's how I did it:

• I used four old newel post I salvaged from someone's garbage, and used a shutter for the headboard, cutting off the bottom of the shutter for the footboard.
• I used an old sign I found, which was a 1/4 piece of press-board, for the bed support, using "L" brackets to affix it to the sides.
• Then I added an extra support in the middle section of the bed to hold the weight of my kitty.
  
• I primed it and painted it with a black paint and then sanding it, giving a distress look.
